In this photo the Model 649 is shown disassembled for a complete cleaning. I always use white lithium grease which I believe is the best for stainless steel pistols and revolvers. On all others I use a paste I mix using Birchwood Casey oil and super fine graphite. The Birchwood Casey will not freeze even at extreme temperatures while the graphite keeps the mixture where I want it. With all of the new products out there the oil and graphite mix is probably old fashioned, but it has worked good for me so I am sticking with it.
